D.I.Y:
Embellished Sunglasses
I recently saw a Diy blog post on embellished sunglasses ( I forgot to bookmark & don't know whos blog it was, *Cries*)& thought I would give it a go!
Off Pinterest I gathered some images for inspiration...
& off I headed to my crafty room to find the following.
You will need:
Embellishments.
Beads, gems, jewelry parts, diamonds, buttons. Anything decorative to embellish your glasses.
Glue.
Preferably a glue gun. I used PVA as my glue gun has gone walk abouts ;( But use your glue gun if you have one.
Tweezers.
Stating the obvious, the glue gets sticky so lets just say its easier to apply your decorations with these babies.
Sunglasses.
I used two pairs of boring sunnies that I picked up from Primark for £2 each. I used these as they were kind of dull, not my style & have been sat on my dresser, neglected, for far too long.
My Embellishments are a mix of beads & diamonds cut up from old necklaces & bracelets over the years. I seriously don't throw anything away, I'm a secret hoarder!
My £2 glasses
These are another pair of "Wayfarer" style glasses also £2 from Primark. I wanted to try some stuff on the sides.
& the finished results...
I have had these winged earrings for ages. I bought them in a sale in Topshop ages ago & have never worn them & didn't really plan to so I thought they would look good on the sides of these black glasses. Black & gold always look good ;)
Actually quite like them! As silly as it sounds I won't really wear them as these shapes really don't suit me but I will every now & then.
Just a tip: these are so much faster & easier to make if you have a glue gun so don't opt for glue if you have one.
What do you think?
