Country girl
I don't know if I have mentioned this on here before but I live in the heart of Wales, Great Britain. The quiet little town I live in is called Montgomery & there is nothing here. Besides the lovely scenery all it has to offer is the ruins of a castle, a lovely little cafe called the Castle Kitchen (Which serves THE best cakes), a tiny convenience store, a Michelin star restaurant, a handful of churches, a lake & feilds, feilds & more feilds filled with farm animals.
It is an hour and a half drive to the nearest supermarket & city! I have only recently moved but I have to say I have fallen in love with the place but you have to be easily entertained to live here (Which I must be aha) because obviously, with the lack of other teenagers, shops & in general, things to do it can get beyond boring.
{My little town}
It was quite a move from the busy city of Cardiff to this "Hillbilly town" as my friends call it, who joke that they see tumbleweeds and that I will soon pick up a twang & start brewing Moonshine or something. But I have kept myself entertained by working, hoarding vintage items for my little vintage shop & I keep myself sane with this blog.
Seriously, its the only thing that helps me keep in contact with civilization! So I would like to thank everyone who stops by & comments, follows & stops to have a read! It seriously makes my day :D
On the other hand, aside from thrifting on the web & working, I like my long walks around the countryside. If you don't know anything about Wales then it's one of those countries that rains. A lot. I don't mind the rain but sometimes the grey skies do get me down so, when I'm on one of my walks (Which I do everyday), I tend to dress up a bit which considerably brightens my day.
2. I have a thing for vintage dresses! I am in love with this yellow one from Modcloth. These are mostly what I hoard & pretty much the main reason why I thrift.
3. I love this umbrella! Translation: Shit it's raining. This is perfect & on my wishlist!
4. Okay, you cannot live in a country that has a continual downpour of rain & not own a pair of wellington boots! About two years ago for christmas my wonderful father treated me to a pair of pink Hunters as I am surrounded by farms & I live at festivals in the summer, so these are a must for my walks!
5. Even though I see everyone in my tiny village when I'm out & about, I always embrace mussed up hair! Some people (mostly the oldies) give me some odd looks when they see me, probably because I'm prancing about in a field wearing wellie's & a dress most of the time, but I love my messy hair
Hope you all have a good day! & a HUGE thanks again if you're hear reading my post :)

1. I like my over the shoulder bags that are pretty colours & have a cool pattern. I also tend to go for ethnic looking bags, I need somewhere to keep my camera whilst walking ;)

It is one of my greatest dreams to visit Wales! I love the sound and look of the language and as a history geek, am totally fascinated by the history. Weirdly enough I married a man of Welsh heritage and my first name is the Latin name for Wales that the Romans used :) So I guess I'm fated to visit someday!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, by the way...your posts are so fun and personal, I love reading them!!! Definitely following you :)

ReplyDeletei can't imagine what it must be like living somewhere so quiet....it must be so weird! so peaceful though xx
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you live in Wales. I live in a small town surrounded by countryside. Ah yes, the rain. I hear you. I TOTALLY get you. Never saw so much rain until I moved to the UK. Bet you're the best dressed person out in the fields. I'm normally in my boots and anorak.
ReplyDeleteOnly when you live in a big city do you realize how precious a small town like yours can be. I miss the outdoors and would love to get back to it! That's what life is all about. Enjoying the simple things! Consider yourself lucky :)
ReplyDeletememoriesoftimespast.blogspot.com
The cake shop sounds lovely! It must have been such a shock to move to the countryside! I'm lucky that I live on the outskirts of London, so I can enjoy the best of both! It hasn't stopped raining for MONTHS it seems, I can't wait for the summer to finally reach us!
ReplyDeleteCarmen Ri.
I went to a village in Derby called Eyam and it was cute and nice but I would find it so hard to live in a little village! I need business around me! I love the items you've picked out, that dress is adorable.
ReplyDeleteI was tempted to take a record to put on my wall so I can admire it everyday haha. I love that song, so perfect.
ReplyDeleteThose pink hunters are absolutely adorable! And with the yellow dress they'd make a perfect rainy day outfit :)
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous, I've always wanted to live in a nice, quiet place surrounded by all things old and natural. I love having messy hair as well, even though I do get a few weird looks for it! xx
ReplyDeleteYou are in Wales? Wales is such a beautiful place!! I love it! I also adore the yellow dress. So cute!!
ReplyDeleteAnd thankyou so much for following my blog :D Means so much to me :)
