Bettys
Yesterday I took a trip to Harrogate for a tradeshow to order some things for the shop & thought I would stop off at Bettys! For those who don't know, Bettys is an english tea room that was established in 1919 & has kept the same interior and food ever since. It has the tea rooms & restaurant on one side & the bakery on the other.
I got my camera out & started snapping up some photos before I was told off.... three times. But I couldn't resist! The interior is fabulous & so old fashioned & the workers still have to wear aprons, hob nail boots & buns on top of their head. It's so charmingly victorian still after all these years!
I had a pot of El Salvador Santa Ana coffee which had notes of dark chocolate & peach.
& then for a light lunch a toasted rosti with poached salmon & a cream caper sauce. It was delicious!
I'm a sucker for macarons so I didn't go home empty handed, a little trip to the bakers next store sort to that.
They are lovely! Chocolate, Lemon, Rose petal & Pistachio yum!
Hope you all have a lovely day

I always see macaroons were I live here in the States, but am scared to try them in fear that they will cause me to hate them. I am trying to hold out for the real thing straight from Europe.
